1. Data controller

Sven Hindrichs, trading as Olivenöl Direktbezug (sole trader), Ratoldweg 18, 85232 Bergkirchen, Germany. Email for privacy enquiries: kontakt@olivenoel-direktbezug.de.

2. Provision of this website

This website is provided using the STRATO website builder. The hosting provider is STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. STRATO processes access data for technical provision and security, in particular IP address, time of access, page requested, browser and operating system. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this website. According to STRATO, visitor IP addresses are stored for a maximum of seven days to detect and prevent attacks. STRATO uses we22 Solutions GmbH as a further processor for the development, maintenance and upkeep of the website builder.

3. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your email address, any other contact details you provide and the content of your message to deal with your enquiry. Where processing is necessary for a contract with you personally or for pre-contractual steps you have requested, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For enquiries from company representatives and other business enquiries, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is handling business communications. Email services are provided by STRATO. Providing information is voluntary; without a way to contact you, we cannot reply. Data is deleted when the enquiry has been resolved, unless statutory retention obligations or necessary interests in retaining evidence prevent deletion.

4. Free olive oil sample

We use a STRATO form for business sample requests. It collects the company name, first and last name, email address, street and house number, postcode, town/city and country of the requested delivery address. Phone number and message are optional. The information is used to process the request and arrange shipping; without the required information, a sample cannot be dispatched. Newsletter consent is not required. Form notifications are sent to kontakt@olivenoel-direktbezug.de. Sven Hindrichs, as data controller, processes sample requests and handles shipping. The name and delivery address are shared with the appointed postal or parcel service where necessary for delivery. For business contacts, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is processing business sample requests. Where the enquiry concerns a contract with you personally, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. Request data in the mailbox and form administration is deleted when the enquiry and shipping have been completed, unless statutory retention obligations or necessary interests in retaining evidence prevent deletion. Requesting a sample does not automatically add you to the newsletter mailing list.

5. Newsletter – voluntary consent

The newsletter is provided by Sven Hindrichs, trading as Olivenöl Direktbezug. Newsletter subscription is voluntary and independent of any sample request. It includes the email series “Olive Oil – Knowledge & Facts” and information about products and offers from Olivenöl Direktbezug. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. The business mailbox for newsletters and replies is kontakt@olivenoel-direktbezug.de; email services are provided by STRATO. You can request a newsletter subscription using the optional, unticked checkbox in the sample form. Your subscription request is stored with the form message and does not trigger an automatic confirmation email. We then manually send a separate confirmation request from kontakt@olivenoel-direktbezug.de. We add your address to the newsletter mailing list only after you have expressly confirmed your subscription by email. Without this confirmation, you will not receive newsletters. We document the consent wording, your subscription request and your confirmation, including the respective dates and times, as evidence of consent. Newsletters are sent manually via kontakt@olivenoel-direktbezug.de exclusively to confirmed recipients. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by emailing this address. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Newsletter contact data is used for the duration of the subscription; after withdrawal, it is removed from the active mailing list. Evidence of consent is retained only for as long as necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. Technical functions and external content

No custom external tracking code has been entered. We use a native STRATO form for sample requests and optional newsletter subscription requests. No external videos or maps are embedded. According to STRATO, the website builder uses session cookies that are deleted when the browser is closed. Where these are strictly necessary to provide the functions you have requested, consent is not required under section 25(2), no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG); personal data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in a functioning website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. According to STRATO, the website builder fonts are provided through a proxy operated in Germany, without transmitting visitors’ IP addresses to Google.

7. Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation; you may object to direct marketing at any time. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
